The KC Air Show 2021 will take place on Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th, 2021.
KC Air Show Charities made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 KC Air Show due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and the related COVID-19 safety concerns and restrictions. The health and safety of our spectators, performers, staff, volunteers and partners is and has already been the top priority for the KC Air Show team and its community stakeholders. Rescheduling the show to July 3-4, 2021 allows KC Air Show to ensure a safe and successful show, once again expected to be the best in the country.
Yes. All tickets purchased for the 2020 KC Air Show will be honored for the rescheduled show on July 3-4, 2021. Headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels during their 75th Anniversary, the 2021 show will continue to feature the majority of the announced 2020 performers such as the AeroShell Formation Team, P-51 Mustang "By Request", Rob Holland, the Aftershock Jet Truck and many more. As planned for the rescheduled 2020 show, KC Air Show 2021 will be at the picturesque New Century AirCenter New Century, Kansas.
The KC Air Show 2021 will provide multiple options to choose from that are posted on our website https://kcairshow.org/getting-there/. Guests will not be allowed to drive up to or park at the airport due to limited access and parking availability. No vehicle access will be allowed unless accompanied by a pre-purchased premium parking ticket. For more details on getting to the KC Air Show, visit our “Getting There" page.
General parking in designated KC Air Show 2021 parking lots, including accessible parking, is included in the price of your ticket. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. KC Air Show 2021, its sponsors, and the Johnson County Airport Commission are not responsible for loss, damage or theft of vehicles or personal items; these entities are also not responsible for towing or removal of improperly parked or incapacitated vehicles. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
Accessible parking for guests with disabilities is available at designated KC Air Show 2021 parking areas. Guests must have their state-issued tag or placard visible. There is NO available accessible parking on-site at the airport.
Limited “Premium” parking for the KC Air Show 2021 is currently available under the premium parking tab within www.kcairshow.org/tickets. Availability of premium parking is limited and expected to sell out prior to the show. All premium parking (while quantities last) must be purchased prior to the show. No “day of” premium parking may be purchased.
The gates will open at approximately 9:00 a.m. on both show days, July 3rd and July 4th. Gates will close at approximately 5:00 p.m. each day. Aerial performances are scheduled to start at approximately 10:15 a.m. both days.
Free parking options open at 8:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
No. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels schedule their performances two years ahead of time and are already committed for the 2021 air show season. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the rescheduled KC Air Show. Additionally, the 2021 KC Air Show will be celebrating the Blue Angels 75th anniversary season.
On July 3-4, 2021, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are scheduled to take to the skies in their larger, louder, and more powerful F/A-18E/F Super Hornets to headline the rescheduled KC Air Show. Additionally, the majority of the announced 2020 performers will return for the 2021 show, including the Aeroshell Formation Team, Red Tails P-51 Mustang, Rob Holland, Shockwave Jet Truck and many more.
Voted the Best Air Show in 2019 by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the KC Air Show team is working to produce the best air show experience in the country while directing surplus funds from the air show into aviation-focused STEM educational programs for school-aged children in the Kansas City area.
The KC Air Show 2021 schedule is expected to be the same both days. There may be some variations depending on special aircraft, which may make only a one-day-fly-by appearance but the general performance schedule of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels is planned to be the same on both days. Schedules and acts are subject to change without notice due to mechanical and/or other conditions. Times of flight for each performer will not be posted due to security issues.
All admissions to the KC Air Show 2021 will require a ticket. Several ticket options and pricing levels are available based on when they are purchased and applicable discounts. Any tickets purchased for KC Air Show 2020 are good for the 2021 KC Air Show as is and do not require changes or updates. Please continue to hold on to your tickets. Any tickets purchased after August 01, 2020 will be subject to the price levels in effect at the time of purchase. Premium seating options are available for purchase. While day-of show tickets may be available, we expect this show to sell out. Please consider advance purchase to ensure the day you want to attend is available. Please check our website or social media for ticket availability.

General Admission
These tickets are available as single-day admission, Saturday, July 3rd or Sunday, July 4th. They include access to the KC Air Show 2021 and all scheduled performances. You will be able to purchase food, drinks, merchandise and souvenirs from the various KC Air Show 2021 vendors and retailers on-site.
Flight Line Club, Gold Club, and Platinum Tickets
These tickets are single-day admission, either Saturday, July 3rd or Sunday, July 4th, and will gain you admission into the KC Air Show 2021 along with special access to the designated seating area. The Flight Line Club is box seating while the Gold Club includes box seating and access to food and beverage. The Platinum Ticket is the most premium ticket available and includes all the benefits of the Gold Club plus special parking, round trip golf cart shuttle service from your vehicle to the show and return trip, along with an airshow ambassador to assist in providing an unparalleled experience. Advance tickets can be purchased online from our website or at select Citizen Bank and Trust locations in Missouri and Kansas (General Admission Only no premium or military). Click here for more details. While day-of show tickets may be available, walk-up tickets are limited. We encourage advance purchase to ensure the day you want to attend is available. Active duty military with a government-issued ID will receive free admission at the gate. Veterans with ID (VHIC, VIC, VCC, Veteran’s designation on state-issued driver’s license, etc.) will receive a discounted ticket price at the gate.

You may either print your tickets at home or display your tickets on your smartphone for entry to the KC Air Show 2021. Tickets must be scanned to enter the KC Air Show 2021. The ticket scanners at the gate can scan printed tickets or tickets on your phone. Be sure to have your tickets ready to go before you get to the gates.
Tickets purchased in advance are sent to the email address you entered upon your purchase. You may need to check any junk or spam folders you have just in case. If you need your tickets resent to you, please call 1-800-514-3849 or email support@etix.com.

KC Air Show 2021 is a rain or shine event. Tickets are for the KC Air Show 2021, not for a specific performer. Unfortunately, there are no refunds, regardless of weather. As the show is rain or shine, performers can adjust their flying to various weather conditions. Tickets are day specific and cannot be exchanged for another day.
While we love pets, pets are NOT allowed at the KC Air Show 2021 other than service animals. The temperatures on the tarmac area can easily reach over 100 degrees and the loud noises of planes and pyrotechnics can injure your animal’s hearing. Please leave your pet(s) at home and DO NOT leave your pet(s) in vehicles.
Air shows are held under an open sky to allow for premium viewing opportunities. Please bring hats, sunglasses, and non-aerosol sunscreen. You may also bring a small personal umbrella and chair. No large umbrellas, tents, or canopies allowed. Umbrellas will not be allowed in the Premium Seating areas. Limited shade may be available under the wings of certain aircraft.
For security purposes and general event logistics, re-entry will NOT be allowed once you have exited the air show.
You may fly in to KIXD arriving no later than 09:00 a.m. either Saturday or Sunday. The New Century AirCenter has limited available parking. It is highly recommended you make advance arrangements as ramp space will be limited. You may pre-purchase your KC Air Show 2021 tickets online in advance or by walk-in to Citizens Bank and Trust select locations (GA only) (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) or buy at the Main Gate. Tickets will cost more the day of the show.
To provide a safer environment for the public and to significantly expedite attendee entry into the air show, the KC Air Show 2021 has adopted a bag policy, similar to that of the NFL, which limits the size and type of bag that can be brought into the event. Guests are strongly encouraged not to bring any type of bag though we understand families will be traveling with small children and certain items may be necessary. Those attending the show with clear bags or NO bags will have expedited access to the KC Air Show 2021.
As a reminder, ALL BAGS AND ITEMS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AT ANY TIME.
Below is an outline of what is permissible:
- 16” x 16” x 8” or smaller clear plastic bag, with or without a handle or strap
- Bags that do not exceed 16” x 16” x 8” will be allowed to the KC Air Show 2021 after a thorough inspection
- Purses that do not exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″ will be allowed to the KC Air Show 2021 after a thorough inspection
- Coolers, Large Backpacks or Bags that exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″ are prohibited (all outside food and beverage is prohibited)
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection
The following items are also allowed:
- Folding or Camping Chairs will be allowed to the KC Air Show 2021 after a thorough inspection
- Strollers
- Wheelchairs and motorized scooters (Note: There is no place to plug in and recharge)
- Small soft-sided coolers for medical purposes or baby items only
- Small, personal umbrellas (umbrellas are not allowed inside the Premium Seating areas)
- Cameras and Camera Bags will be allowed to the KC Air Show 2021 after a thorough inspection
- Blanket to sit on
- Water bottle (factory sealed/unopened 1-liter or smaller bottle, one per person)
ALL BAGS AND ITEMS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AT ANY TIME. The KC Air Show 2021 reserves the right to modify this list at any time.
Heightened security policies have been established by the KC Air Show 2021. We would like to remind you that these enhanced security measures are for your safety. We understand that this may be an added inconvenience, however due to the nature of current world events, we feel they are necessary. The following items are prohibited:
- Bags/purses in excess of 16” x 16” x 8” (all bags/purses will be thoroughly inspected)
- Backpacks in excess of 16” x 16” x 8” (all backpacks will be thoroughly inspected)
- Camera bags in excess of 16″ x 16″ x 8″ (all cameras and camera bags will be thoroughly inspected)
- All outside food and beverage (except one factory sealed 1-liter or smaller bottle, per person allowed)
- Weapons/fireworks of any kind (including all guns and pocket knives, no exceptions)
- Items that could be projectiles
- Banners or flags with sticks in them
- Bullhorns/air-horns/cowbells (or other noise makers deemed by event staff to be unacceptable)
- Lasers or laser pens/pointers
- Hard-sided coolers of any kind
- Anything that can obstruct a fan's view
- Wrapped presents and/or gifts of any kind
- Pets or animals not documented as service dogs
- Aerosol cans (e.g. sunscreen, hairspray, mace, etc.)
- Toy guns or toy knives
- Beach balls or other inflatables
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (DRONES)
If any of the above items are discovered at our gates, our security staff members will ask that you return these items to your vehicle or be thrown away. Prohibited items will not be stored at the gates or guest services.

As indicated above, the KC Air Show 2021 is a NO DRONE ZONE. No drones of any kind will be allowed.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Volunteer opportunities for the KC Air Show 2021 will be available soon. The KC Air Show website and our social media channels will indicate when volunteer signups are live.
There will be very strict security before, during, and after the KC Air Show 2021. In the event you become separated from your child please go to the lost and found area, at the First Aid Booth, or ask a volunteer for assistance. For Lost and Found items, the KC Air Show 2021 will have record of all found items approximately 3 days after the event. Email us at info@kcairshow.org if you are looking for a Lost & Found item.
It is recommended to use ear plugs to reduce the noise levels for some performers.
For general admission (GA), it is standing room as available on the ramp area. You may bring your own lawn/folding chairs or blankets. Premium seating is available at an increased charge over GA. More information about our seating options can be found by clicking on the KC Air Show ticket page.
The KC Air Show 2021 will have designated ATMs on-site supplied by our Official Air Show Bank - Citizens Bank and Trust for attendee use.
